Laboratory

The laboratory is open Mon-Thu 8:00-19:00, and Fri 8:00-14:00.

We take laboratory tests mainly without an appointment and also without a doctor's referral. Our gyneocologists take pap smears and other samples during the appointment. Results are available from your doctor.

Ultrasound

Each of our gynecologists has an ultrasound device of the latest technology. The customer may follow the ultrasonography from a monitor on the wall.

We use the KELA direct reimbursement scheme, so every customer belonging to KELA pays only what is left after the reimbursement.

Prenatal Screening

We have two perinatologists: Ansa Aitokallio-Tallberg, who works mainly in the Women's Hospital; and Terhi Saisto, who works mainly in Jorvi Hospital.

Fetal chromosome investigations (chorionic villus sampling and amniocenteses) and trisomy screening are conducted during the 11th and 12th pregnancy week (S-Papp-A), and during the 15th and 16th pregnancy weeks (2nd trimester serum screening). An ultrasonography nuchal scan increases the reliability of the prenatal screening.

Adenova has a total of 18 gynecologists.

Each room is eqipped with a colourdoppler ultrasound device. The expectant mother and father can follow the ultrasonography on a wall monitor.

The perinatologists use a XARIO-4D ultrasound device, which shows e.g. blood flow. We do not do fetal portraits, but professional investigations for the good of the unborn child.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapist Marianne Tapaninen:

The goal is to treat and prevent different functional abnormalities of the lower abdominal muscles. These include incontinence and pains in the pelvic floor muscles. The condition of the pelvic floor muscles also affect posture and support of the torso, as well as sexual activity.

Physiotherapy of the pelvic floor muscles consists of a personal care plan and guidance. Specific meters (emg-biofeedback) or electrotherapy may be used as aids if necessary. Physiotherapy also covers other muscle groups and body functions that affect the pelvic floor muscles.
